Do you see? Can you smell what is brewing?

I found this article  when searching for articles about the oil spill looking like blood (Revelation).  http://www.newsweek.com/2010/06/04/blood-in-the-water.html

This poor woman... I actually feel sorry for her.  She paints Christians who believes the Bible to be total nut cases.

She uses words like white evangelicals, Christian fundamentalists, warriors on the side of God: a cosmic battle—culminating in apocalypse,  members of the right,
the religious right, and Republicans on the far-right fringe to describe "Christians".

Miss Miller quotes Scripture from Revelation several times and then in the end (last paragraph) tries to look at things through a "biblical" lens. (No one can see or understand the Bible without the Holy Spirit.)

I feel like Miss Miller was painting Christians, who believe the Bible to be the Word of God and Revelation to be true, to be total nut cases who think the world is coming to an "end" soon.

As I read this I am transported in my mind to all of the "end times" movies that I have seen in my lifetime.  As I watch the news I feel like I am watching a movie on TV but reality check... it's real! (I watch Christian news.  I rarely watch secular news on any popular networks because, "What goes into the mind, comes out in life.")

I feel like John the Baptist, "Prepare ye the way of the Lord!" (Matthew 3–4)  I guess that's my whole point.

Do you have thoughts on what you smell brewing?

I came across Christians just like this last week. My husband's family. They go to church on Sunday, but it's taboo to talk about God the rest of the week. I thought it would be fun to read some of my humorous devotionals to them. Wrong. But can I tell you how great my God is? He comforted me with so many unexpected blessings. HE IS AWESOME!
