I love to go on road trips! We went to Tennessee for Thanksgiving to visit family. It was so wonderful! The dinner was great, the hospitality was great and we ladies went to a tea room! I don't often get girl time like that!
Espresso got to shoot a gun and go hunting. They didn't get anything but he got to use his own deer stand and be dressed in camo ~ head to toe! Double Espresso got to shoot a bow at targets and play with his little, adorable cousins. They had a blast!
You know, trouble and exciting times just seem to follow us! Thursday night we went to bed in the "Prophet's Chambers" at my Uncle's church. It really is nice staying out there but this night I woke up 3 times in about 3 hours. The fourth time I woke up is what started the excitement.
About 3 AM we heard 6 gun shots all in a row. It sounded like it was right outside the window but very well could have been down the road several hundred feet. We got up and looked around but didn't see anything. We prayed (because I was frightened) and laid back down for sleep.
About 3 minutes later, we saw headlights come in through the window. Two vehicles had pulled up into the church parking lot. One guy got out of his vehicle and got into the other one. (All four guys had the typical gang banger look.) We didn't know what to do. After a minute, they all drove away in one vehicle.
I called my uncle; turned out that they had heard the shots too. My uncle called the police and in a few minutes were there. They said that there had already been 3 shootings that night right down the street.
We had decided to go ahead and pack to leave since we were going to leave around lunch that day anyway. I wasn't going to stay out there and once we woke up the kids to go to my aunt and uncle's house, they wouldn't have gone back to sleep.
We were packed in about 15 minutes and out the door we went! I felt so bad leaving in the middle of the night like that but I knew we would be too tired for the drive home if we didn't. Turns out that the car that they left there had New York licence plates and is STILL there! Hmmm...

Sounds nice... then
Whoa! That is crazy.
Glad you guys are safe.
Wow! What an adventure. Praise the Lord for His protection and Mercy. Also for the fact because you were there, the police were notified of new information.
Keep up the God work.
