A Family That Serves Together

Every couple of months our church goes downtown Chicago and has the privilege of serving dinner to the poor, homeless, and lonely.  It's quite an experience as there is such a vast array of people that go there to eat.

Some people have to choose between eating and paying their gas bill or rent.  Some are pimps and some prostitutes.  Some are totally drunk and some are high.  Some people are just lonely and want to get out of their apartment for a little socializing.

All are loved by God and we are happy to serve them dinner, pray for them, or just chat.

We are happy to be able to serve along side our boys and my parents.  What a unique privilege!

Does your family serve together?  If so, what do you do?

That's a neat thing to do as a church and as a family. Really is a good reminder to appreciate all the things we're blessed with and often take for granted.
