What is your worth based on?

Why is it so hard for women to feel worthy? Why do we try to get our self worth from others instead of our Daddy?

The Virtuous Woman by Vicki Courtney: Chapter 2 "What Are You Worth?"

page 36 How about you? Is your worth based on who you are in Christ, or are you
spinning a hundred different plates of good deeds to feel like you are worth
something? A virtuous woman will get this in the right order. Ephesians 2:10
puts it into perspective: "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

So, why IS it so hard for women (or men) to see who they are in Christ? Why do so many people fill their lives with activities and try to brag about how busy they are? This seems to be a real problem where we live. So many times I've ran into someone and asked how they've been and so many times the answer comes back, "Busy!" I just want to tell them, that's NOT a badge of honor!

In this stage of my life, I am intentionally trying not to fall into this trap. (Maybe to a falt.) I don't WANT to be "busy". I want to do good works that God prepared in advance for me to do but I DON'T want to be that person who is spinning plates, or doing tons of activities, just to feel worthy.

This is something to think about. I have been too busy. I don't think it's about me, I just for one have a hard time saying no. People think since I am not working outside the home I have all the time in the world. And secondly, there's just so much good that needs to be done. Helping the elderly, needy, etc. besides my work at home. I really need to find out what exactly I am supposed to be doing right now and what I'm not. Thanks for this thought provoking post.

I am because of HIm! Thanks for this poignant reminder to look to my King for my value as He adorns me with all of His royal promises and calls me His princess, His Sarah Dawn.

And thank you, for splashing me today with your kind words. I have never written before publicly, and only just began to share my journals between He and I for others to read. For His glory, and His alone. I'm just a broken pot, but oh the joy of having His light shine from me.

Hugs for your day,
Sarah Dawn
