Birthday Blessings to You!

It was Deborah's birthday week this week!  (Yes, SHE gets a birthday WEEK!!)

Wish her happy birthday at Heavenly Humor!

Here's a birthday song for you:

Focus

Ever lose focus?  It's easy to do, ins't it?

Sometimes when we go into a trial we lose focus.  It is so easy to put our eyes on our circumstances instead of our beautiful, loving LORD.

What are some things that cause us to lose focus?
_______, _______, _______.  You fill in the blanks.

Psalm 37:1-11 lays out exactly what to do while God handles "them".

  • Do not fret -- Be not envious (God is going to handle "them")
  • Trust -- Do good
  • Delight -- He will
  • Commit
  • He Will
  • Rest -- Wait -- Do not fret
  • Cease  -- Forsake wrath -- Do not fret
  • Wait -- You will inherit
  • God will handle "them"
  • Will inherit -- Will have abundant prosperity

My codes:
pink = do or do not
green = promise

Psalm 37 (New American Standard Bible)

Psalm 37:1-11

1 Do not fret because of evildoers,

Be not envious toward wrongdoers.

2For they will wither quickly like the grass

And fade like the green herb.

3 Trust in the LORD and do good;

Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.

4 Delight yourself in the LORD;

And He will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the LORD,

Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

6He will bring forth your righteousness as the light

And your judgment as the noonday.

7 Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him;

Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,

Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.

8Cease from anger and forsake wrath;

Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing.

9For evildoers will be cut off,

But those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land.

10Yet a little while and the wicked man will be no more;

And you will look carefully for his place and he will not be there.

11But the humble will inherit the land

And will delight themselves in abundant prosperity.

Weekend Worship ~ What are they worth?

What are people worth?
What are the people that YOU know worth?
What are your kids worth?
What is your spouse worth?
What is your neighbor worth?
What are the people who you encounter everyday worth?

Ever look around you while you are in a store or crowded room and wonder...
Who are these people?
What is their story?
Are they believers in the Most High God?
Do they know Him?
Where will they wake up when they die?
If they suffer when they are dying will they suffer more when they wake up in a Godless eternity?
Is Yeshua (Jesus) their true Salvation?

Do you know Him?  He is LOVE.  He loves you!  He died for YOU!  He wants you, your family, your neighbor, your coworker to KNOW Him.

Healthy ~ Part 1

Is your family generally healthy?  Do you come down with the flu or colds and catch everything that people are passing around the stores, churches, or schools?

This is a series about how to stay healthy.

First, we believe the Bible.  You have to believe what God says AND put it into practice.  That can be very difficult when it comes to our health or the health of our kids!  A lot of people immediately want to run to the doctor.  When they get there, they expect a prescription and unfortunately a lot of doctors give in.  Some doctors don't ~ that's good!

Faith means nothing without action.  How much faith do you have?

The first place to start is with Scriptures and, in later posts, I will list vitamins and talk about eating habits.  Wisdom is in His Word.  The beginning of knowledge is the fear of the LORD, Yahweh.

The PINK are promise words:

Proverbs 1:7  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 3:7-8  Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.  It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones.
(That is enough to keep you busy for the rest of your life!)

Proverbs 16:24  Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
(NO negative thoughts or words!!!!)

Exodus 15:26  And He (Yahweh) said, "If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD (Yahweh), am your healer."

James 4:14-16  Is anyone among you sick?  Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed.  The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Our Visit to Candy Cane Lane

We went to Candy Cane's house today.  She was very grateful for the items that everyone so graciously blessed her with.

We went to Salvation Army (one of my faves) and got her 2 office like chairs that she can use at her table or in her living room. We also got her a small child's dresser. It's at least big enough to put her personals in.

She had a blanket on the floor (that she sits and sleeps on), a cd player and some books. In the kitchen she had a table and an old stove. In her bedroom she had a garbage bag of clothes and a picture of Jesus on the wall. In her bathroom she had her clothes soaking in the tub and some more clothes hanging from a shower rod.

While we were out and about I told someone about what we were trying to do for her.  This person took pity on a girl that they've never met and has offered to help her get a job!  No kidding!  God is with her!

Candy Cane is sooo happy with the possibility of getting a job. The state wants her to accept disability and she is refusing! She WANTS to work.

Candy Cane is at the mercy of everyone else, the state, the Church, and people that she meets.  She doesn't have a dime nor a thing in this world.

Meeting her and the others that we visit in Chicago sure does help put perspective on things.  Even when you think that you have so little, you really have so MUCH!

I am sure thankful that my God has put her in our path.  I am so thankful that He has given us ways to help others.

A lot of people don't feel good about themselves.  They have so much self pitty.  I know; I've been there.  Helping others is part of the cure.

I've seen people come out of deep depression.  One thing that helped them is reaching out to the homeless and needy.

Try it, you'll like it!

Her Needs:
  • *FULL size box spring
  • Shower curtain liner
  • Comfortable living room chair
  • Stove / Washer / Dryer

  • Size XL or 20 clothes
  • Size 9 shoes

  • Food (we took her a sandwich for lunch and some carrots, tangerines and bananas)
  • Garbage bags
  • Garbage cans
  • Phone with minutes
  • White caulking for tub (owner isn't helping at all)
  • Videos to watch
  • VCR

Music Speaks

This song was on as we were on our way to take things to Candy Cane and as we were on our way home.  (I will post more about our trip to see her later this eve.)

God speaks to me through His Word but He also speaks to me through music.

Please let it bless you!

Will YOU follow Him?

A Continuation

We were made to be like Yeshua (Jesus).  We were created in God's image.  We are to be His hands and His feet. We are to bring Him glory!

TOGETHER, we can do it!

I'd like to make a continuation of the post, "Please Help A Sister In Need" because I have some updates.

_________________________________

I am writing to ask for help, AGAIN! I am still collecting items for Candy Cane. I am including an updated list of needs.

If you have given, I thank you. I'm sure she will be soooo happy to receive the items. I will be taking items to her very soon as I got her address just today.

If you aren't actively helping others, won't you please, prayerfully consider helping Candy Cane. She is a fellow believer (a new believer) and needs help. There is only so much that the government can do and it is our job as believers to be there for each other.

I know you all have things that you don't need or know people who do!! (wink wink)  It wouldn't be a terrible thing to ask others for their help also!

She has nothing. She is sitting on laundry baskets and sleeping on the floor (not for long). I will find out more when I visit her.

Hi SARAH!!

Thought I would drop you a line via my blog!!

Love ya!

Found This Today

Just a little something to remember and help us get through our day!  (Maybe even a rough day.)

Proverbs 16:20a He who gives attention to the word will find good

Proverbs 16:21 The wise in heart will be called understanding, and the sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness.

16:23 The heart of the wise instructs his mouth and adds persuasiveness to his lips.

16:24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

We can get further with honey than with vinegar.
