Need Energy?
I found the cure for lack of energy! I have felt tired a lot lately. Finally, I drew the line! That's it! I'm tired of being tired.
I want my youth back; doesn't matter if I'm turning 40 this year.
For the past 3 days, I've had more energy than I have in the last 2 years.
What did I do? Simple... I prayed! I just asked believing that God would do it.
What have you asked God for lately?

Blessings ~ Coupon Blessings!
I am so excited to share one of my passions with you! I have a friend who suggested that I coupon. I thought... you are crazy! I don't have any desire to coupon! I don't use the products that they put the coupons out for.
Then my friend told me that she figured out that when she coupons, it's like earning $40 an hour.
SAY WHAT?
Well, I thought, maybe I will look into it.
It started about 2 years ago. I was in a desperate situation. Food was expensive, our family needed clothes, and we were making less than $12,000 a year and NOT on food stamps or government assistance.
Can you say "TIGHT budget?"
To make a long story short, I am totally into couponing. I save A LOT of money. Of course, there's always more to save! Just last night, our family went out for Chicago deep dish pizza and got 50% off of our total bill using a coupon. Can you beat that?
I found a website that has helped me tremendously. It's "The Crazy Coupon Lady . com." She has coupon tips for beginners, coupon sites, coupon links, places to print coupons, and a video showing how to organize coupons.
I will share more about couponing in later posts. For now, know that it isn't as intimidating as it first seems and you can start SLOW!

Do you have something to say?

I am putting together a newspaper for our church!
We are looking for articles or testimonies written about "Hope in Jesus Christ."
Has something happened to you that your hope in Jesus got you through it?
Do you have something to share? I'd be happy to talk to you about it and see if we can use your story in our paper.

The Anointing

The anointing of the Holy Spirit
"The anointing of the Holy Spirit is given through people to demonstrate God's love and power. Christ means the "Anointed One". Because Christ is in us the same anointing that He had on earth we also have."
My husband has a special anointing. He does all of the following and I'd like to give a testimony of that.
Yesterday, I woke up with a shoulder pain. I don't know what I did, but it felt like the front of the inside was out of place. As we sat on the couch with our morning coffee, watching a "preaching show" I told him about my pain. He said, "Well let's pray right now!"
He touched my shoulder and prayed a prayer of healing over me. A few hours later I noticed that the pain was gone. Not only was the pain gone, but I could move my arm all around my head. (Normally, this same pain will last me for weeks.)
I don't usually need a prayer for healing. I know many people who have had my husband pray over them for healing, jobs and other situations and it was done just as he asked. I know one person who was healed from cancer, one was going blind, one had a shattered hip... and the list goes on. One person needed a job and after prayer, walked out of my husbands office, crossed the street and got TWO jobs at the same time.
(Luke 4:18-19 NKJV) "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; {19} To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD."
1. The anointing is given to preach the gospel to the poor2. The anointing is given to heal and restore people3. The anointing is given to proclaim freedom to the captives4. The anointing is given to open blind eyes5. The anointing is given to set people free6. The anointing flows in God's timing and proclaims God's timingQuotes from: Seek God Ministries
I thank God for my husband and for the anointing on his life. He is an awesome man of God. Our home is blessed. Our children are blessed. Our marriage is blessed.
There is hope in Jesus Christ. Because of Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, there is healing. There is peace. There is prosperity. There is HOPE!

Feet in the sand...

There is NOTHIN like it!
I look forward to it all winter!
...the feel of putting my bare feet in sand for the first time.
Yesterday, hubs and I took the boys to the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago because it was "FREE DAY!" Woo hoo! Yes, we had fun. Yes we learned and that's the end of that discussion! LOL!
After we finished learning, we took a walk down to the beach. Oooooohhhh yes. That was where the fun began. The youngest and I took our shoes off and stuck them in the sand.
How I LUV the feel of hot sand on my feet for the first time after winter!
We walked down to the edge of the water and stepped in. Wowza! That water is COLD! It numbs the feet in about 60 seconds, but it is oh so refreshing!
Have you had a chance to put your bare feet in the sand this season?

Know it all?
Teen-agers often act like they "know it all." Have you ever heard them say, "I KNOW! I KNOW! I KNOW!" and you know full well that they don't? That was me. I thought I knew.
As I grew up, I quickly learned that I don't know much! Because of life circumstances, I have learned some things!
I have been in both places, abundance and suffering need. If you need some encouragement because of life circumstances, please don't hesitate to ask!
Bible Verse:
Philippians 4:12 (bold print mine)
I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.
My experiences:
I know how to live in a big beautiful home with bathrooms as big as some kitchens.
And I know how to turn a laundry room into make-shift kitchen/bathroom while living in a basement.
I know what it's like to have a pantry and freezer full of food.
And I know what it's like to sell my blood to get money for food.
I know how to live on an income that most people dream of.
And I know how to live on $12,000 a year for a family of 4 with no food stamps or assistance.
I know what it's like to have a beautiful master suite with a whirlpool tub and walk-in closet.
And I know what it's like to use a bed-side potty for a toilet (I'll leave out the details).
I know how to cry real tears to God and beg Him to move in our behalf.
And I know how to speak in FAITH to God and watch Him move in our behalf.
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to Godmust believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

An Unpleasant Experience
I read this post called, "Why I Hate Grocery Shopping" at the Domesticated Mama's blog, and it made me think of an experience that I had recently.
I was grocery shopping, minding my own business, lost in the world of canning jars, when all of a sudden I saw a man out of the corner of my eye. As he strolled past me and rounded the corner into the next isle, he said something vulgar to me. He said something about me looking hot but said it in a not nice way with a swear word attached.
Instantly, I got creped out! Sick tingles went all down my spine and I took off runnin. I pushed my cart to the back of the store and called my husband. I told him what the man said and talked until I calmed down.
Of course, as I walked down each isle and looked for the man, I thought of a bazillion things to say back!
"Don't you know who I am?!! I am a daughter of the King, the Most High God, the Maker of the Universe! You know the One! The same God that is allowing you to suck air right now!"
LOL! Well, in retrospect, I think I did the right thing by ignoring him and getting out of dodge... or the canning isle.

A Great Quote
I heard this quote the other day and it has been on my mind a lot. It's got me thinking about my mindset as life goes on, as different circumstances come my way.
You can be pitiful or you can be powerful, but you can't be both!
Which one are you right now?

Do You Flirt With Your Husband?
Or is that something that ceased years ago? My husband and I have been married for almost 16 years and we still flirt!
(WARNING: The following tip could cause a romantic flare up!)
Texting is a great way to flirt with your husband. Send him a symbol such as :-* (kiss). Send him a pic of yourself or just say something sweet, romantic, or sexy!
A couple of days ago, I made up a new holiday. Hubs was at work and I sent him a text that said, "Did you know it is 'tell your husband how awesome he is' day?" He really appreciated that.
Often times, we will be sitting at the dinner table and we will either text each other or if there is a paper handy, we'll write each other notes. We purposefully do these things in front of the boys. They are always catching us flirting or sneakin a smooch and know full well how much we love each other.
If you don't flirt with your spouse, I highly encourage it! It helps to put a little fun in an ordinary day.

Can You Help Me?

Can you help me think of a name? We are stumped!
Ok, we just moved our church. Basically, it's like starting from scratch. New building ~ New city.
We are putting out a newspaper. It will have stories of people in our church that, with God, have come out of different circumstances such as cancer, drugs, alcohol, jail, etc. It will have devotionals and other articles of HOPE.
Can you help us come up with a name? The church name is Harvest.
Thanks in advance!
