Hand Stamped Necklaces ~ Celebrate Life & Proverbs 31 Jewelry

First of all, I got this great app on my phone that I can use to make collages!  That's a lot of fun it itself.

I'd like to show you samples of my hand-stamped designs.  These can be custom ordered in my Etsy store or through my blog.

The top pics are of a necklace for "Life."  These would make great gifts for someone who is pregnant or who has little kids/babies.  I put a pink Swarovski crystal in this one but that can be changed to blue or any other color.

The "Life" necklace says, "Psalm 139" and "wonderful precious."

The bottom necklaces are called "Proverbs 31."
These were made for a MOPS group so the second charm says their name and "MOPS."

I can do these in copper and silver or silver and gold.

I REALLY like these!  Keep them in mind for gift giving!
At $20, they make a great gift!

Are You "Lucky?"

Lucky, now that's a word we often hear!  You lucky duck!  Wow! You got lucky on that one!  Yeah, if you were lucky you would have...

"Lucky" used to be a regular word in my vocabulary until I discovered what luck was and that it isn't for God's children!  You can't possibly be both "lucky" and "blessed."  Either good gifts come from God (James 1:17) or you are "lucky!"

What is luck?  I found it defined this way:  A series of happy accidents.

So, as Christians, children of the Most High God, are we correct in saying we are lucky or would our words be true if we said we are blessed?

I choose to be blessed by my Heavenly Father.  I do not choose "luck!"

Here is my video on the subject:

Ever kill a bug and feel guilty?

Now, I don't want a lecture that a bumble bee isn't a bug... Save that for my homeschool blog!

Hubs and I were sitting on the porch reading our Bibles and watching this bumble bee buzz around the bushes and bounce off of the house looking for a little hole that it lives in on the porch rail. (??)  It finally found it and I thought it would be funny to stick my pen in the hole and plug it up for a minute.  I shoved it in... I shouldn't have.

After I took it out, the injured bee fell out of the hole backward and started to struggle.  I instantly felt horrible! I didn't mean to!  I looked at my pen and it had clear liquid on it.  AWWWWW....

I went to the other side of the porch to look at the bee.  It was breathing heavy and buzzing a bit.  I looked even closer, it was rubbing it's tummy part.  Oh my.... my heart felt terrible! (still does)

All of a sudden another bee came buzzing by looking for his friend.  The injured bee must have sent out a distress signal.

I felt soooo bad!  Have you ever experienced anything like that?

Gifts on Mother's Day

In my last post about Mother's Day, I mentioned what gift I had received.  Ashley left this comment and I thought I'd thank her by turning my answer into a post!  Thank you Ashley!

Ashley Pichea said...
Are gifts supposed to be exchanged on Mother's Day?? :) We're not big on gifts in our family, so we exchange greetings and spend time together.
Time is a BEAUTIFUL gift in itself!

...to answer your question: I suppose gifts can be exchanged during any holiday if you so choose.  I also suppose that one doesn't even have to "celebrate" Mother's Day considering it's not one of God's appointed times.  Another thing it may depend on is a person's spiritual gifting.  If they are a "giver" let them "give liberally."  We have MANY givers in our family!

Even God likes to give good gifts! Matt 7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

I also mentioned that I would tell you what I got to give on Mother's Day.  Well...
We had an absolutely lovely time spending all day together serving the Lord, worshiping, eating dinner, and visiting my ailing grandparents. It was a blessed day...an exhausting day... but a blessed day!

Thank you for your question, Ashley!

Did you have a beautiful weekend?

(My boys)
Mother's Day is a time of love and family for some and yet for others, it can be bitter sweet.  I have a friend who  lost her mother a couple of years ago and this is a very hard time for her.  My heart is soft toward those people who miss their mother on Mother's Day.  May you be filled with lovely memories.

I sure hope your weekend was wonderful!  Being in full-time ministry, Mother's Day weekend is BUSY!  It was busy but absolutely wonderful!

Ok, what did ya get?  We all know that mothers get awesome gifts at Mother's Day!  Some get fancy items for their kitchen, some get hand made pottery or art from the kids, and some get beautiful flowers.

I got to GIVE a lot this Mother's Day and I'll tell you about that later.  What did I get?  I got that new "As Seen On TV" screen door thing!  I love it!  I can sit in my dining room with the big door open and the bugs and wasps don't come in.  (this is NOT a sponsored post)

To be honest, I think my dog likes it more than I do.  He can let himself in and out on his own. He acts all proud of himself; it is hilarious!

I sure hope your Mother's Day was beautiful!  Tell us about it.

39DollarGlasses Review & Giveaway! FREE Glasses up to $75

(MY glasses!)

Giveaway rules at bottom of post

I couldn't be more excited to introduce to you 39DollarGlasses.com!  I was invited to order a pair of glasses for review and I can honestly say it was my privilege.

I want to start off by saying, I like, like, like these glasses!  Everyone that sees them compliments me on how nice they are!

At first I thought it would be difficult purchasing glasses online, but I was open to it since I had previously purchased contacts online.  Turns out that it wasn't difficult at all!

The most complicated part of the process was deciding which pair to go with.  Although I know my style and what I like, there were several really great pairs which made the decision... well... fun!

My process:

  1. Pick out ONE pair of glasses
  2. Make sure the dimensions/millimeters were right for my face (I based this off of my old glasses)
  3. Measure the distance in millimeters between my 2 pupils (I did this with a clear ruler which worked GREAT)
  4. Printed the PDF picture of actual size of glasses and put my old ones on top to see the difference
  5. All was well so I clicked to order and put in my prescription numbers
  6. I chose my type of lenses (Free ~ single vision)
  7. Decided to get the anti-reflective coating for an extra $25 (from what I've read, that is a wise decision)
  8. Then, I checked out!
  9. Got my glasses in the mail very quickly, put them on, perfect fit, receive compliments every time I wear them!
So, you want honesty.  It was allll wonderful except one thing.  At the end, when I clicked on the extra info links (like how to read my prescription) the X button was too far up on the page and I had to click the back button.  This was a technical issue not at all related to their glasses.  They seemed to fix that a bit so it shouldn't be an inconvenience to you!

It was really as simple as that!

You can order yours today with this coupon code:
