(Meme from Sunday Steeling - it was "stolen" from someone else etc.)

1. What curse word do you use the most?  Eph. 4:29 says:  "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."  I will say that I don't curse!  I do have a few other words in my vocab that shouldn't be there though.  :(

2. Do you own an iPod? A what?  No!  Although my 13 year old thinks I should!

3. What person do you talk to on the phone the most? Probably my mom.  I really don't like to talk on the phone.  I think I did too much of that when I was younger.  ;)

4. Do you still remember the first person you kissed? Yes.  YUCK is all I have to say about that!

5. Do you remember where you were on 11/9/01? I’m assuming this actually is supposed to be 11 Sept. 2001 – or as we AMERICANS write it: 9/11/01, Sept. 11, or just plain 9/11. Making that assumption,

6. What was the last movie you watched? "You Lucky Dog" - a Hallmark movie.

7. Has anyone ever called you lazy?  I suppose so... ?

8. Do you ever take medication to help you fall asleep? Medication?  As in medicine?  That's a dumb question.
9. Has anyone told you a secret this week?  Yes and that's all I'm sayin about that!

10. What is the first thing you notice about the opposite sex? Attitude.  Where are they on the arrogant vs. nice spectrum?  or on the weirdo vs. "normal" spectrum?  Do they give me the creeps?

11. What are you looking forward to?  Rest... nice days... vacation... getting my drivers licence again!!!

12. Do you own any band t-shirts?  No but it would be an interesting collection if I did!  I like everything from Skillet to the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.  (I don't listen to secular music.)  Of course, in my younger years it probably would have been Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and Whitesnake.  ...bad, bad, bad...

13. What will you be doing in one hour? Hmmmm... putterin around the house, I guess.  I'm kinda bored today.  I have things to do but can't do them right now.  I do need to make some LISTS!!  :)  I LIKE makin lists!!

14. Is anyone in love with you? My husband is head over heels for me even after 15 years of marriage.  That's a God thing!

15. Last time you cried?  Oh, in the last couple of weeks.  Life is hard you know but Yeshua (Jesus) makes it better.

16. Are you on a desktop computer or a laptop?  I prefer a desktop.

17. Are you currently wanting any piercings or tattoos?  Actually, when I turned 28 I got my second piercings on my ears again.  Now, I'm kinda wanting my third.

18. Would you ever date anyone covered in tattoos?  If I wasn't married... I wouldn't care if he had tattoos as long as he was head over heels on fire for God.  We can't erase what we've done in the past, especially bodies covered in tattoos!

19. What were you doing before this?  Eating lunch with my hubby!

20. When is the last time you slept on the floor?  Oh dear... probably when my husband and I were dating.

21. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?  TOO many!  Way too many!

22. Do you eat breakfast daily?  Yes, love it!

My Friend

I'd like to introduce you to Claudia.  She is a dear girl who is in college.  I read a blog post that she wrote on Saturday and was greatly moved.  I asked Claudia if I could put it on my blog, so here is what she had to say.

Please visit Claudia at "After His Heart" and give her some encouragement.  She is a 2 year old Christian who loves the LORD.

"Amazing :)

God never ceases to amaze me. :) Last night I got to attend an appreciation event for volunteers at my church. Although it's impossible for me to attend regularly, I help out with the summer day camps - which is why I could go. It was a fabulous night! We had dessert, worship, and a message. It felt so much like church! Joshua Seller led worship, and a guest speaker spoke about the importance of being a slave for Christ.

I came home and started feeling rather down because I didn't have the opportunity to have such amazing experiences every week. So many Christians take going to church for granted - they view it as "just another day" or "another service." But I would give anything to be able to go to church on a Sunday - anything!

So, I decided to ask my mom if I could go to church tomorrow...I was terrified that she would yell or swear at me (her usual reaction), but she actually said yes!

I am going to church tomorrow for the first time in almost a year! God is so good! :)"

Bless her heart!

Guest Post from... My mom!

If you look REAL CLOSE...there is a little dot on this picture. It is enclosed inside the square. This is a picture of EARTH from space.

Now, how does God see what is going on here when He is even further away than this space camera?  How does He KNOW who I am?  I am amazed when I read scripture that says HE know me so precisely that He how many hairs are on my head!!!

How does He even FIND me from so far away?  And, why should He love me?  Oh, because He loves His creation...and, I AM one of His creations as are YOU.  Yet, I know He loves me/us.  I know He cares.  His Word tells us that we are precious to Him...YOU are precious to Him.

I am just SO AMAZED...so...so... amazed!  Just HOW BIG is this God that we cast every care upon?  My mind cannot begin to comprehend it... but, I KNOW He is with me.  He is the LIVING God... Jesus, crucified and risen and seated at the right hand of the Father... making intercession for us... our advocate.

Mat 10:28-33
"Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

"Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.

"But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

"So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

"Therefore everyone who confesses Me (Jesus) before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.

"But whoever denies Me (Jesus) before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

But God: House story is getting intersting

My husband just got a call from the realtor who is the selling agent on this house that we are in.  You know, people in the business of "making money" are quite ruthless.

This "agent" (I won't say of whom) just got done telling my husband that if we don't move before their closing date, the banks will throw us out on the front lawn.  No joke!  She had the nerve to say that the bank will come in our house (the one we are renting), take our things and literally throw them out on the front lawn.

She asked if we have a lot of stuff and could we possibly move it all out in 2 days?

These people are crazy!

It was really funny though.  My husband was reading Revelation and preparing a study for our church.  This "agent" calls and tries to intimidate him.  In his mind he's thinking, "Lady, I'm in Revelation and my God just defeated the Enemy!  We win!"

But God!

My God will not be intimidated.  My God loves us.  My God rewards a life of faith.  I am a tither and He WILL rebuke the devourer!  Scripture says so!

...and when my God says it's time to move, we move.  When my God provides a place for His children to live in and money to get there, we move

This is the God whom I serve:

Ephesians 3:14-21 (NLT) (bold & highlights mine)
When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

Yeshua (Jesus) defeated the devil with Scripture and the power of His word.

May our story be a testimony for you.  The God whom we serve, Yahweh, is mighty!  He is the all powerful Creator of everything!  Everything is His, the earth and all that is in it!

God will make a way, where there seems to be no way! (Plus update)

At this point, there seems to be no way...  But God

Update on our house situation (there seems to be no way):
  • Living in in-law's basement for 20 months
  • God works a miracle and moves us into a beautiful rental
  • After living in rental for 2 1/2 months, house goes up for sale
  • Many showings at first (according to our contract, we didn't have to show it at all)
  • No showings for several months
  • Owner calls - tells us that he sold the house and we have to be OUT in 2 1/2 weeks
  • Inspector and realtor show up and are verbally abusive
  • Police report made
  • Second inspection goes nicely (again, we were being gracious)
  • We find out that owner hasn't made one house payment since we've lived here - He had lied and said that he made all payments
  • 2 1/2 week deadline passes (June 21, 2010)
  • We still can't find a place to live
  • Still - nothing has been done legally according to contract
  • Owner continually calls - freaking out - needs us out by June 27th (in 5 days) so they can close on house
  • We can't find a place to live and because the owner didn't give proper notice, we don't have the money for deposit and first and last months rent

Praising God should be part of our core.  Praising God in a trial brings glory to Him and confuses the enemy.  The fact that we are alive and breathing is a praise, not to mention all of the wonderful things that He does.

Praises
  • My God loves me
  • He guides me
  • He blesses me
  • He WILL make a way
  • Yeshua died for me
  • We have a roof over our heads
  • I am continually blessed with jobs (review opportunities)
  • We are continually blessed Spiritually
  • My husband is given people to disciple on a regular basis
  • Our children love and respect us
  • God has rebuked the devourer for us
  • The birds sing and it is beautiful

Malachi 3:11 (NASB) (Bold print by me)
"Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes," says the LORD of hosts.

Malachi 3:8-12 (NLT)
“Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me!

“But you ask, ‘What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?’

“You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me.

You are under a curse, for your whole nation has been cheating me.

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!

Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease.  Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

“Then all nations will call you blessed, for your land will be such a delight,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

This Blog and Our House Part 2

It looks like a shipwreck

You can read Part 1 here:  This Blog

This is what has happened in the last week i:n regards to our house:

Phone call:  Get out and you have 2 weeks to do it.
Phone call #2 (the same day): ...and, there is an inspector coming tomorrow.  (less than 24 hr. notice)

My husband told the guy that tomorrow won't work and he needs to talk to me since I'm the one home.  "Tomorrow" comes and my husband wasn't home.

I heard someone try to open my front door.  I looked and there were 3 men trying to get in to our house!  They didn't even knock!  Fear rushed through me and I ran to my son's (11) bedroom.  I called my husband and told him to PLEASE come home.  There are men trying to come into the house and NOW they are on the roof walking around!  Needless to say, the owner didn't cancel the inspector's appointment.

My son started crying in fear and hid in the back of my closet.  I decided to let our big dog go bark at them.  They went around to the back slider door and tried to come in that door with the dog at that door barking at them.  Since it was locked, they stayed at the back door and purposefully aggravated the dog to bark more.

My husband made it home in about 10 minutes and approached the men.  He said, "Hey guys!  What's up?"  They asked who he was and when they found out, they started to yell at him.  They told him that he was being a jerk, he was lying, he was not appreciative of any one's time but his own, and demanded that he let them in.

My husband stayed calm and tried to calm the men down.  That wasn't happening...

The buyers realtor showed up and also yelled at my husband.  She called him the same names that the men did and accused him of the same things.

All the while, my children were seeing and hearing everything that was going on.  My husband told them that he is a pastor and has counseling with some people so they would have to make an appointment with us for another day.

He also told the realtor that he didn't appreciate everyone yelling at him and that the kids were upset about that.  She said, "Yah well, kids these days hear far worse than that!"

My husband said, "NOT MY KIDS!!"  Amen brother!!!!!  People don't just come to our home and scream at us and call their daddy names everyday!

So, we were gracious (gracious meaning- we didn't have to) and let them have another appointment two days later.

So, here we are.

  • We have a legally binding contract
  • We've been told to get out of the house in 2 1/2 weeks
  • Since there was no notice, we haven't saved rent and deposit money
  • No time to save
  • We've been on the lookout for a place to live - can't find anything

BUT God...  But God hasn't spoken.  He isn't finished.  We are His children.  He loves us.  He is at work.  He will calm this storm.  I have faith that He is doing something and AGAIN, will work a miracle in our behalf!!

Stay tuned...

This Blog

When I first started this blog, I wanted to tell about our journey to a house and in the process, tell about our journey as Christians to our eternal home with Yeshua (Jesus).  At the time, we were living in my in-law's basement.  We lived there for 20 months.

I begged and pleaded for God to move us to a home.  To be honest, nothing happened until we spoke in faith to Him.  We had to pray "believing".  I started out with, "LORD, I believe, help my unbelief."  That eventually grew to true faith that He was going to move but it had to start somewhere!

After living in this house for 2 1/2 months, the owner contacted us and said that he is selling the house.  "What!!!!??"  By now, my faith was stronger and I could walk confidently in it.  It is going to be ok!  ;)

Several months have gone by and a couple of weeks ago, we received another phone call.  This time the owner said that he sold the house and we have 2 1/2 WEEKS to get out!!!  Excuse me?  We have a contract that says otherwise.  With proper advance notice, we could have saved money and found someplace to go but 2 1/2 weeks just isn't enough.

That's not enough notice for us, but it is enough for God!  I don't know what He is up to.  He is being very quiet right now and we must be listening in the stillness.

There is much more to the story that I will post later.  For now, I'm just waiting and trusting my loving Father, Yahweh.

God Got Me

I had quite an experience this weekend.  The couch was only a SMALL part of it.  I wrote all about God gripping me on my other blog:  Homeschooler Cafe

Read all about it!

I finally got it!!!

I finally got the couch!  It's not THE couch that I wanted but I like it very much.

Ok, are you ready for this?  It was totally brand NEW with packaging tape still on it.  It's a hide-a-bed couch.

How much you say?  $35!!!!  No joke!!!  Where?  At the Salvation Army.  I am furnishing my whole living/dining room there.

Here are some photos of the couch.

I am the type of person who likes to redo furniture.  I like to paint tables, lamps, baskets, and anything else that I can spray.  (Watch out walls, here I come!  Just kiddin!)  I like shop for and pick new fabrics and reapulster chairs.  Did I mention that JoAnn's is having a half off sale on fabric this week?  Woo hoo!

The fact that I only spent $35 means that I have been wise with God's money and can (in good conscience) spend a little more on fabric and spray paint!

Have you gotten any good deals lately?  Are you spending God's money wisely?  Have you redone any of your household items?  Tell us about it!  Do tell!

This one's for the girls!

Precious

You know how good it feels to be wanted or needed?  Young girls often find "needy" boys so that they will feel wanted.  Young girls will sometimes get pregnant so that they will feel needed by the baby.  They want someone to love them!

You are precious to Jesus, Yeshua!  Just like pearls and gems, you have worth... No matter how worthless you are feeling, just know, you have worth and love waiting for you.  The ultimate... most intimate LOVE.

He gave Himself for YOU!  He loves you so much that He died for you.  His desire is for you to live your life with Him and for Him.  He WANTS you!  The Bible is full of messages for you from the Maker of the universe - the One who created your every fiber.

How does it feel to be so wanted?  He loves YOU!  If you seek Him, you WILL find Him!

Do you want to know more about the loving Father who made you and wants you?  Do you want to know just how much He loves you?  Tell Him.  That's right, you can talk to Him and tell Him that you need His love.  You can tell Him that you need to find Him!

Jesus, Yeshua, died for YOU!  He loves YOU!  He wants YOU!

A little about a friend of mine...

I was talking to a friend at church.  She works at a place that helps women who are escaping abused situations.  The place is ran by a particular religious denomination and unfortunately, they have rules about talking to the residents about Jesus.  That totally doesn't make sense since the denomination is supposed to be "Christian".  Christian meaning ~ Christ Jesus!!

(For those who may not know:
Definition of Wicca from Wikipedia:  Wicca (pronounced [ˈwɪkÉ™]) is a Neopagan religion and a form of modern witchcraft. It is often referred to as Witchcraft or the Craft[1] by its adherents, who are known as Wiccans or Witches.)

When she first walked in, she met co-worker.  That co-worker walked straight up to her and said (with attitude), "I just want you to know right off the bat that I am wiccan!"  My friend was a bit stunned as I would have been.

I told my friend, next time she does that you just tell her,

"Yah, well, I worship the Creator of the Universe.  The Most High God.  My God created your god!"

Of course, she would love nothing more than for this "wiccan" lady to find Jesus!

My God is THE Creator.
He created everything that you see and don't see.
I know that He is powerful and can and WILL intervene for His children.
AMEN!

Praise Yahweh!!

Determined

I am on the lookout for a sofa.  You would think that one would: locate a sale, find a sofa in the right price  range and purchase the sofa.  No... not me.  I have to be difficult about it.  I have a specific style in mind that doesn't even exist in stores anymore.

How does one get a sofa that isn't in style?  Buy used.  Sounds easy enough.  Not!  I've searched Craigslist in many cities within a 3 hour drive.  I did find a sofa that I liked but when I went to go see it, it was filthy from little children's feet. (How precious!) I can't risk $375 on that much filth!

Here are some sofas that I like, that I can't find, that apparently don't exist anywhere in the region except on the world wide web.

These sofas are they style that I like.  Mostly, I'd have to go with different fabric but you get the idea.

I have expensive taste on a low budget!  Most of these types of sofas go for several thousand dollars even used!  They are the shabby sheek look.  Oh well, I'll have to be creative!  AND, the boys in my home don't care for any of this!!

thank you google images for the photos

Gettin A Grip

Ok, I WAS freaking out when I wrote the previous post.  After I wrote it, the enemies fiery darts came out full force.  Within 2 hours 3 different attacks came.  At first, I was wondering if they were attacks or something that God was doing.  (Of course, any attack that comes has to pass through the Father first.)  After the events of yesterday, we knew for sure.  (More about that in another post.)

The spirit behind the happenings of the past day or two has been pure evil.  (I'll tell more about it in a later post.)  Through it ALL, we have continued to praise God out loud and sing Hallelujah Anyhow!  Literally!  (The video is a couple of posts back.)

That song, along with Scripture and God's peace, has gotten me through.  I am leaning on Him as only He can stand strong when the winds blow.

My Daddy has continued to bless both monetarily and Spiritually through the past few days.  He is so amazing!  I can't wait to see what He has in store!

People

Ministry wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the people!  Does that sound harsh?  I'm just being honest right now.  Sorry.

How about your life?  Do you have people who come in and out of your life, stabbing you in the back all the way?  People have a tendency to do that to us.  I'm really tired of it.  Church members, family, "friends"... it's getting old.

The Word says:  Not to get weary doing good.

Praise God!  I have a Father that loves me and knew before anything even happens that it is going to happen.
